CRADLE COAST AUTHORITY

Established by the nine Councils of north-west and western Tasmania, the Cradle Coast Authority (CCA) has been a leading example of local government collaboration for two decades.

Around two thirds of CCA’s funding comes from non-Council sources. CCA’s twenty-strong team delivers a diverse range of projects related to natural resource management, economic development and strong local government. Current work includes the $14.4M Coastal Pathway extension, Giant Freshwater Crayfish recovery and helping Councils employ more School Based Apprentices. The Cradle Coast Regional Futures Plan – an ambitious, joined-up approach to regional economic development – is a major piece of work and has been backed by industry, government and the university sector.

CEO Daryl Connelly feels privileged to lead such an important and unique organisation.

“We have an agile, diverse and talented team, backed by nine exceptional Member Councils. We are uniquely placed to become a global exemplar of regional development, local government collaboration and public administration done well,” he said.
