This category of membership applies to a person employed in the local government industry who is not otherwise qualified to become a either an Ordinary Member or Fellow Member of LG Professionals Tasmania.  This membership category is entry level.

  • Not eligible to vote at General Meetings
  • Full membership access
  • Not eligible for attendance at executive only events and forums

 Ordinary Member

This category of membership provides acknowledgement of an individuals skills, knowledge and experience in the Local Government Sector.

To be admitted as an Ordinary Member, an applicant shall:

  • Be employed in local government or a relevant organisation as determined by the Board; and
  • Hold a managerial appointment; and
  • Hold a degree, diploma or relevant qualification or have demonstrated experience or prior learning to the satisfaction of the Board.
 
  • Full voting rights
  • Full membership access
  • Use of member post-nominals
  • Eligible for attendance at executive only events and forums by invitation only

 Fellow Member

FLGPT 

This category of membership provides acknowledgement of an individuals extensive skills, knowledge, expertise and dedication to service in the Local Government Sector.

To be admitted as a Fellow Member, an applicant shall:

  • Be employed in local government or a relevant organisation as determined by the Board; and
  • Hold a managerial appointment; and
  • Hold a degree, diploma or relevant qualification or have demonstrated experience or prior learning to the satisfaction of the Board.
  • Have made a significant and active contribution to LG Professionals Tasmania or Local Government: and
  • Have been admitted as a member for a minimum period of 10 years or such lesser period as may be determined by the Board.
 
  • Full voting rights
  • Full membership access
  • Use of fellow post-nominals
  • Eligible for registration at executive events and forums
General Manager / CEO  N/A

This category of membership is for those who may not yet meet the eligibility of Fellow but are still within a position of influence in the sector, it provides acknowledgement of an individuals extensive skills, knowledge and expertise in the Local Government Sector.

To be admitted as a General Manager, an applicant shall:

  • Be employed in local government or a relevant organisation as determined by the Board; and
  • Occupy a senior executive appointment (CEO, General Manager, Director etc)
  • Hold a degree, diploma or relevant qualification or have demonstrated experience or prior learning to the satisfaction of the Board.
 
  • Full voting rights
  • Full membership access
  • Eligible for registration at executive events and forum
 Retired  N/A A Fellow, Member or General Manager who has retired and who wishes to retain an interest in LG  Professionals Tasmania may apply to our Board to become a Retired Member. Applications for retirement can be made via email, through the website or via the member only area
  • Not eligible to vote at General Meetings
  • Full membership access
  • Not eligible for attendance at executive only events and forums
 
 

Corporate Subscriber
 N/A This category of membership is for those individuals who may sit outside the Local Government or Public Sector  yet who wish to have access to the benefits and networking opportunities offered through LG Professionals Tasmania.

  • Full membership access
  • Not eligible for attendance at executive only events and forums
